Case: The steel case is in great condition given the age of the piece with some light signs of wear but no major damage.
Dial/Hands: The dial is in good condition with some patina present on the lume markers adjacent to the indices, the gold indices and hands still have a nice gold shine and the second hand has a tarnished blue colour.

Watch History
The Rolex Oyster Ref. 4444 is a mid-20th-century example of Rolex’s transition from early utilitarian Oyster designs toward more refined, everyday dress watches while retaining its hallmark waterproof case construction. Produced in the 1940s–1950s period, it reflects the brand’s focus on durability paired with restrained, classical styling. Inside, the Rolex Calibre 710 represents Rolex’s approach to slim, manually wound movements, designed for reliability and ease of maintenance rather than high frequency or technical complexity. The Cal. 710 typically runs at 18,000 vibrations per hour and was used in smaller Oyster models where compact dimensions were essential. Together, the Ref. 4444 and its movement illustrate Rolex’s emphasis on precision engineering, robustness, and understated design during the post-war era.
